Counting Your Steps
When starting a pedometer walking program, keep in mind:
Inactive people normally take 2,000 - 4,000 steps a day.
Moderately active people take 5,000 - 7,000 steps a day.
Active people take at least 10,000 steps a day.
There are approximately 2,000 steps in each mile so 10,000 steps a day is approximately 5 miles.
